Americans love their beer – so much, in fact, that we consume some 200 million barrels of it annually (only China puts away more, but then again, they have about a billion more people inhabiting their land). It’s enough to fill about 1 out of every 25 residential in-ground pools across the US. And if you happen to be drinking it out of a bottle, you most likely are in need of a bottle opener to get to the sweet nectar inside – and that’s where the promotional products with built-in bottle openers come in.

Katy Perry Draws Inspiration from Custom Flip Flops
While other “California girls” may prefer flip-flops, singer Katy Perry is making a splash with red rhinestone-covered stilettos. These shoes, which I first noticed on Bit Rebels last week, have a heel that measures 5 3/4 inches tall (with a 1 3/4 inch platform) in order to give better visibility to the Wizard of Oz images beneath the sole. Originally designed for Perry, the stilettos are now available for purchase from Taylorsays. Katy Perry may be first to rock these pumps in the celeb world, but shoes with imprinted soles are nothing new in the promotional products industry. In fact, the Collegiate Promotional Flip Flop Sandal is just one example of popular custom flip flops that let purchasers leave their name in the sand.
Promotional Fitness Accessories to Soothe Sore Muscles
I found a video today talking about a world record-breaking relay race to benefit Breast Cancer research. The catch, however, is they were racing in stiletto heels. The race took place in Sydney, Australia with several teams of women participating in the race sponsored by Gillette’s Venus Embrace razors. The winning team’s strategy wasn’t very complicated, they just ran on their toes as you would if you were sprinting, so it didn’t even matter that they had heels on because they weren’t even hitting the ground. Whether they were running in sneakers or not, I am sure they are suffering some minor aches and pains and promotional fitness accessories like hot and cold packs are a perfect solution to soothe their legs. Fitness centers can put good use to promotional hot and cold packs to promote memberships, and even manufacturing facilities can use them to instill good health and safety habits on and off the job site.

Bring Them to Your Booth with Inexpensive Giveaways
This past Saturday my husband and I had the pleasure of attending the first annual Grayson Blues & Brews festival in Grayson, GA. While the entrance fee was a bit on the steep side, the promise of an afternoon of free-flowing beer tastings, an event t-shirt and other inexpensive giveaways was enough to seal the deal. And with a rather large crowd, the event seemed to be a hit in the growing Gwinnett town.
Sex Sells – Even in the Promotional Products Industry
And Advertising Specialties Institute’s latest issue of Successful Promotions features an 11-page spread that aims to prove it through the examination of five recent marketing campaigns with sexy themes – and profitable outcomes. Perhaps they took a nod from their own assessments in their decision to put sexy ‘celebutante’ Kim Kardashian (whose ads for Carl’s Jr. feature her indulging in their salad in bed) on the cover.
If you don’t have the budget to hire a celebrity spokesperson to amp up your ads, you can still put a little sex appeal into your marketing efforts by incorporating sexy promotional products that will “add a little va-va-voom to your next promotion,” according to ASI.

Promotional Gambling Products & Bunco: From Speakeasies to the Suburbs
Sick of board games? Tired of Bingo? Well, say hello to Bunco, a dice game invented in 18th-century England. While Bunco was a popular gambling game during the 1920s and Prohibition era, it has now evolved into a social dice game where players typically compete for door prizes instead of money. Although promotional gambling products are commonly incorporated into casino night fundraisers or galas, Bunco is a more family-friendly option that does not require any skill or practice, thus appealing to a broader audience. To learn the rules of Bunco and find out how starting a Bunco league can benefit your brand, keep reading…
Custom T-Shirts for “The Situation”
On my way to work this morning, a local radio station was discussing how reality star Mike “The Situation” of MTV’s Jersey Shore has one of the highest grossing phone apps ever with GTL locations and a “Grenade Dodger” game. “The Situation” already has several other businesses in the works and he also, supposedly, has a t-shirt coming out that will have a hole in the belly so you can show off your “abs”. You may not initially think of that product being custom t-shirts, but it definitely is, it promotes the brand that he is making for himself and MTV indirectly for introducing him to the world. So if someone like “The Situation” can make himself famous with custom t-shirts, think of what it can do for your business.
