Reggie Bush Injury: No More Rush Awards for the Saints?

Welcome to this week’s edition of “Trending Topic Tuesday” where we share our take on what’s going on in the world and what promotional products would appropriately (or inappropriately) market the subject matter.

Reggie Bush injured his leg last night during a fourth quarter punt against the San Francisco 49ers. The New Orleans Saints running back was helped off the field and did not return to the game. According to unknown sources cited on ESPN and NewOrleans.com, Bush suffered from a fracture or break in his right leg and will be out for at least 6 weeks. News of Bush’s injury is disappointing to New Orleans’ Saints fans, who were hoping for another great season following last year’s Super Bowl win. Bush’s absence from the NFL could significantly decrease the Saints’ chances of winning another Vince Lomardi Trophy and this is just the latest of many recent headlines about Bush and rush awards. Bush returned his Trophy last Tuesday after officials concluded that he accepted gifts from sports agents while under contract with the University of Southern California. Sports fans should know more about the injury when Bush returns to New Orleans today, but here’s wishing him a speedy recovery!

Promotional Cinch Bags for The Palmyra Foundation

Earlier this month, the Palmyra Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to supplying school books to children in public schools in Jamaica, distributed 7,000 books to 2,000 children during their first week of school. “I think the most gratifying aspect of the experience of sharing these gifts of learning with these delightful, energetic, hopeful children is the knowledge that we were there, with and for them from the very start. Today makes one reflect on the reality that it truly does take a village to raise a child and through the Palmyra Foundation, we are happy to play our part as our children’s keepers”, commented Attorney Gordon Brown, one of the sponsors who helped distribute books at the event.

Pinnacle Promotions was happy to play our part by working with the Palmyra Foundation in creating the custom promotional cinch bags in which the books were distributed. Each child received their very own bag complete with a pack of crayons, a pencil, a 300 page BrainQuest Workbook and 2 or 3 Scholastic reading books.

Promotional Travel Items for Oprah’s Lucky Studio Audience

On Monday’s season premiere of “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” now in its 25th and final season, Oprah announced that all 300 members of her live studio audience would be receiving an all expenses paid, eight day trip to Australia! Another perk she decided to include? Tickets to a December taping of her show at the world-famous Sydney Opera House. Oprah’s lists of “Favorite Things,” which she generously gives to audiences semi-annually, have included promotional travel items like flip video cameras and plush travel blankets in the past, but this is definitely one of the most prestigious, extreme gifts she has ever given to her audience members. Promo Work Wear for Everyday Safety

I recently found an article discussing the popularity of safety apparel for everyday consumers, not just those in the construction or manufacturing industries. Promo work wear and apparel are actually becoming a trend through out retail sectors. Primarily motorcyclists, bikers and outdoor enthusiasts are snatching the safety apparel up because it is not only functional and provides protection, but it is also becoming more fashionable. If this trend continues there is no telling what we will see in the promo work wear market in the years to come. With more and more individuals taking their health and safety more seriously, this is definitely a trend that could turn into the norm. Ladies and gentleman, promo work wear for everday safety is important. Be sure to browse the best vests for men and best vests for women and find the best vest for you.

Google Instant Revolutionizes the Search for Promotional Products

In case you haven’t heard by now, last week Google unleashed Google Instant, a search process that streams results as you type. As you continue to type and define your search query, you can see Google narrowing down the suggestions in order to provide you with the most targeted results. In other words, Google tries to predict what you are thinking in order to provide you with the search results before you even complete your thought, thereby saving you time (anywhere from two to five seconds per search and “11 hours with each passing second” according to Marissa Mayer, VP Search Products & User Experience at Google). Take the word “promotional products” for example. Over the course of my three second search process, results transform from “Publix” to “Priceline” and then pull up results for promotional products before I even complete the first word.

They probably have a few USB flash drives (average size 2.25″ x 1″) too. Well with Leed’s (the second largest supplier in the promotional products industry) new Elleven series promotional products and what they have named the “TechTrap” recipients can have a place to store all of their tech gadgets and gizmos of almost any size.
