“Lazy” Promotional Products

I am a self-proclaimed lover of idle time. My favorite thing to do is nothing. Some call it laziness, I prefer to refer to it as a reactionary consequence of a life full of busy-ness. I have recently discovered some promotional products however whose use extends well beyond even my personal standards for the realm of simple lethargy.

Promotional Youth Outerwear and Personal Branding, “Future Funk” Style

I have never been a huge fan of “America’s Got Talent,” but last night my sister showed me a YouTube video of two of this season’s semi-finalists in action. The five-year-old and nine-year-old members of the dance duo “Future Funk” absolutely blew me away. These pint-size break dancers demonstrate skill through their advanced dance routines, and even at such young ages, “BBoy Bailrok” and “BBoy Boogaloo” exhibit marketing savvy through their matching promotional youth outerwear.

Whether taking the stage for a performance or entering the boardroom to meet with prospective clients, here are some tips:

1. Build your own brand.
The group’s name, “Future Funk,” is catchy and memorable and their logo looks great when imprinted on t-shirts for their biggest fans. The red and black graphic is simple and uncluttered, yet presents a bold interpretation of the act’s brand. If you are currently self-employed, you can maximize the impression you make on prospective clients and/or employers by creating your own personal business card with a custom designed image.

2. Dress the part.
Like “BBoy Bailrok” and “BBoy Boogaloo,” you can portray yourself in a more positive light by dressing appropriately for the occasion. For a job interview, you are typically safe by opting for a suit; if you are pitching an idea to a new client, perhaps you can take a more casual route by wearing a neatly pressed button-down shirt embroidered with the name of your employer.

3. Be confident and stay positive.
“BBoy Bailrok” and “BBoy Boogaloo” have developed a fan following because of their upbeat attitudes and likeable demeanors. Yes, their age and unusual talent makes them appealing to a variety of audiences, but the boys always conduct themselves professionally in front of the show’s cameras. Similarly, professionals should maintain a high level of professionalism in any corporate setting to best represent themselves and their respective employers in the public eye.

Custom Koozies with Hats!

No. Your eyes do not deceive you. That bottle is definitely wearing a hat.

No. I really don’t know why he’s wearing a hat. I can only suppose that it is to keep the coldness in longer (and I don’t have a clue if that is true). But I can say, that never in my life, have I had the opportunity to dress my beverage in a custom Koozie fishing outfit – complete with hat.

Until now. And it is wonderful.

Promotional Apparel at IHOP Advertises New Movie, “Despicable Me”

Despicable Me at Universal Studios

Pancakes and cartoons: if you ask me, indulging in these two guilty pleasures sounds like an ideal way to kick off a Sunday morning! A few weeks ago, I visited a local IHOP restaurant to chow down on some delicious chocolate chip pancakes, and instead of walking into an ordinary IHOP, I was presented with an atmosphere that was much friendlier and more inviting. The reason for the kid-friendly ambience? A marketing campaign promoting the newly released, animated movie, “Despicable Me” at all IHOP locations.

For more information about this great example of cobranding, the effectiveness of promotional apparel and why you should see “Despicable Me,”

From enormous banners hanging above the tables, to a wait staff clad in “Despicable Me” promotional apparel, to limited edition menus and dishes, the restaurant was transformed into an interactive advertisement for the full-length flick. Rather than experiencing a typical IHOP visit, I was enthralled by the upbeat, “party” vibe- streamers, witty posters and catchy names for exclusive menu items all contributed to an enjoyable meal, and the servers clearly enjoyed the change of scenery as well. They were smiling, joking with youth patrons about the promotion and proudly wearing their adorable imprinted t-shirts. Their positive attitude was contagious, and the restaurant did a great job of using promotional products to generate buzz among its clientele about the movie’s release.

The movie, for those of you who have not heard about it, revolves around a conniving villain (voiced by the hilarious Steve Carell) who hatches a plan to steal the moon from the sky. His evil plan is set back, however, when he meets three young girls who idolize him and view him as a father figure. So does the character go through with his heist? I guess you’ll have to see the movie to find out!

Pets love promotional items too.

This weekend in Atlanta a benefit concert will take place to help raise awareness and funds for several local animal foundations. It really got me thinking about how important pets have become in our society. So why not pamper your cuddly pals with promotional pet products, they deserve some fun too. The most common promotional pet products for dogs would be of course a dog-friendly frisbee, but nowadays there are so many more fun and unique promotional products to choose from. One of the coolest new products I have seen lately is a pet travel bowl just for dogs, it works so well you can’t leave home with out it!

Celebrate Bastille Day with Custom Giveaways in Atlanta

American Independence Day came and went with a bang, and now it’s time to gear up for Bastille Day, the celebration of the French Fete de la Federation (or Federation Holiday). Bastille Day commemorates the first anniversary of the storming of the Bastille prison in Paris on July 14, 1789- otherwise known as the beginning of the French Revolution and the fall of the old government. Since the actual day of the storming is considered too bloody to celebrate, the French observe the one-year anniversary with an annual military parade, fireworks, and custom giveaways.

Not lucky enough to celebrate in Paris? Keep reading for events around town…

Office Organization At Your Fingertips: The Giant Promotional Calculator Mousepad

As I sit at my desk day after day. Looking for the most amazing new products, and dreaming up extraordinary uses for everyday items, I find myself switching between all the basic office equipment in my organizer.

I clip some papers together with a paper clip. Tape up the sheet I accidentally ripped while trying unsuccessfully to pull it out of my spiral bound notepad. Then reach for my calculator and pen to crunch some numbers. At day’s end, there are countless pieces of office equipment sprinkled across my desk.

For me, organization is key. Keeping my desk in order and knowing where all my essential tools are stored is a key component to meeting my daily priorities and goals. This organization factor is one of the many reasons why I’m loving the Giant Promotional Calculator Mousepad.
