Welcome to this week’s edition of “Trending Topic Tuesday,” where we share our take on what’s going on in the world and what promotional products would appropriately (or inappropriately) market the subject matter.
Everyone living in the Great Lakes region, especially Chicago and northern Illinois, needs to grab their promotional umbrellas before heading outside this morning. Area tornado warnings expired at 8 a.m., but heavy rain and winds up to 60 or 70 miles per hour are expected to continue throughout the day. In addition, be sure to check flight schedules if you are flying in or out of Chicago, as power outages and delays have been reported throughout the city.
As someone who lived in Chicago for the better part of 20 years, I can tell you that they aren’t kidding with the old saying, “Chicago sees all four seasons. Often in one day.” There are many functional promotional items that you can distribute to help employees prepare for seasonal storms and cold weather in Chicago, and across the country. Custom jackets and promotional rainwear will ensure that recipients stay dry and warm on their morning commute, while travel mugs allow them to sip their hot coffee on the way to work. When imprinted with a company logo these items do more than prepare employees for winter weather; they actively promote your brand to other commuters on the El, or wherever they may travel.
