Hello, local readers. Once again we’re here with your weekend guide, where we share our favorite things to do in and around Atlanta and point out where you can get free stuff along the way. As always, be sure to add anything we missed in the comments.

One, Images of Isolation.

One Twelve Gallery. Opens Friday with an artists’ reception from 7pm – 9pm. Runs through October 22. Free.

Free and open to the public, One, Images of Isolation explores this theme through the photography of Aaron Pevey, Emily Dryden and Pinnacle’s own photog Joe Martinez. Joe’s work features images taken while traveling along empty highways of the Southeast (including the photo above. Note this image has been modified from its original version. It has been formatted to fit the dimensions of this blog.) The show will run through October 22, 2010 and the gallery is open Thursday-Saturday 11-4 and by appointment.

10th Annual Decatur Barbeque Blues & Bluegrass Festival

Harmony Park (Oakhurst). Saturday, 4pm – 10pm. $10 adults 21+; $5 10-20; children under 10 free.

Enjoy great food, music, and company at the 10th Annual Decatur Barbeque Blues & Bluegrass Festival Saturday at Harmony Park in Oakhurst, just south of downtown Decatur. This family-friendly event will feature ribs, pulled pork, and more from local joints Black Tie BBQ, Five Star BBQ and Decatur’s own Community Q. Fat Tire, Skinny Dip, and other brews will be available for the 21+ crowd and all guests can enjoy six hours of blues and bluegrass music from Joe McGuinness, The Deja Blue Grass Band, and others.

Creative Loafing Highland Ave. BeerFest

Pure Taqueria in Inman Park. Saturday, 12pm – 6pm. $35 in advance; $40 at the door.

Raise your glasses. It’s time for Creative Loafing’s Highland Ave. BeerFest, featuring 100 craft beers, tasty treats from Pure, Hobnob and Gilbert’s Cafe, and live musical performances headlined by Judi Chicago. Confirmed breweries include the beloved Gordon Biersch, Allagash, Highland Brewing Co., Sweetwater, and Terrapin; with so many craft brews from which to choose, you’ll be sure to find new favorites as well. Fused 2010 Midtown Music Fest

Opera Nightclub. Saturday, 6pm – 11pm. $25.

Get ready to dance the night away at Opera Nightclub to celebrate the Fuse Midtown Music Fest. Live Sound Promotions is presenting some of Atlanta’s breakout artists for this concert event. So come out and support some of Atlanta’s best music acts before they go mainstream.

17th Annual Folk Fest

The North Atlanta Trade Center. Friday,  5pm – 10pm;  Saturday, 10am – 7pm;  Sunday, 10am – 5pm. $15 Friday; $7 Saturday and Sunday.

Browse 85,000 square feet of Folk Art at this weekend’s event, which features 100 galleries and dealers from around the country. Prices for artwork range from a few dollars to several thousands of dollars, and you can expect to see artists displaying art of all kinds, from handcrafted silver jewelry and twelve foot painted canvases to embroidered dog collars. If you attend Friday’s grand opening and Meet-the-Artist Party, your entry fee includes weekend readmission. Many exhibitors have promotional t-shirts, bags and other giveaways up for grabs in case their original works are out of your price range.

The 3rd Annual Taste of Chamblee

Downtown Chamblee. Saturday, 11:30am-  8pm. Free.

Enjoy local food, live entertainment, and works by dozens of regional artists at the third annual Taste of Chamblee festival. More than 30 restaurants will come together to serve up a diverse variety of cuisine including Indian, Malaysian, Mexican, Cajun, BBQ and more; sample-sized portions range from $1 to $4 each. This event isn’t only for your tastebuds, though: ears and eyes can enjoy live music and an ArtWalk all day long. The Taste will also feature a Beer Garden and Wine Tasting for the over-21 crowd and a Kids Zone with inflatables, rock climbing walls, and arts and crafts for the young ones (and the young at heart).
