Sweet Auburn Curb Market Urban Picnic

Atlanta’s Urban Picnic returns to Sweet Auburn Curb Market in 2011, with some of the city’s favorite local street food vendors selling their mobile culinary creations. Among this year’s eats will be Westside Creamery’s handcrafted ice cream, Blue Tailed Lizard’s signature tamales and The Good Food Truck’s famous Poodle hot dog served on a french toast bun with spicy mustard, apple maple slaw, and maple syrup.

2011 Atlanta St. Patrick’s Parade & Festival
Downtown Atlanta. Saturday, 12pm. Free.
Arrive on Peachtree Street early on Saturday to stake out your parade-watching spot – this year’s St. Patrick’s Parade & Festival promises to be the largest and best attended event in the city’s history. The 1.1 mile parade route ends at Underground Atlanta with vendors, food, entertainment, and festive music & dancing. This year’s Grand Marshal is Paul Gleason, Ireland’s first Consul General in Atlanta.

Once Upon a Princess Day at the Georgia Aquarium
Georgia Aquarium. Saturday, 10am – 4pm. $24.95 for adults, free for kids under 12 in costume.
Designed to raise awareness for frog conservation, the third annual Princess Day kicks off with an interactive princess parade, followed by princess photo ops, royal arts and crafts, and more. Kids under 12 who dress up as a princess, prince, or frog will receive free admission, so be sure to B.Y.O.T. (Bring Your Own Tiara), as the Aquarium says.

ShamRock & Roll 2011
Meehan’s Public House in Sandy Springs. Saturday, 2pm – 11pm. $10 advance.
92.9 Dave FM’s ShamRock & Roll, presented by Guinness, Absolut and Bacardi, features several live music performances, including sets from Ed Kowalczyk performing the music of LIVE, Yacht Rock Revue (with Uno Dos Tres Catorce: A Tribute to U2), Stevie Monce and Francisco Vidal. Come dressed in green for this St. Patty’s Day bash, which benefits the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to funding childhood cancer research grants.
