Call me boring—but I think that promotional calendars are a great marketing tool. When you buy a promotional product, more often than not your goals are to spread your brand with an item that will be used frequently and encourage users to buy from your company.
It’s crazy to think of how many times a day I have to look at a calendar to check not only what date it is today (it’s surprisingly hard for me to remember something so simple) but also what day of the week future dates fall on (in case you were wondering – my birthday is on a Friday this year!). One company that has done a spectacular job with this product is Chick-fil-A. Each page of their calendar is a hilarious picture that features their cow mascots. Another great touch for this calendar is the monthly restaurant coupon. As the clock ticks toward lunch time, each glance at the calendar would be a reminder of the delicious food that Chick-fil-A offers — and what better excuse to eat fast food than having a coupon!

Everyone always wants the glamorous or the latest and greatest promotional idea, but sometimes the best promos are the simplest. Calendars are a great promotional and I agree, people use them a ton!
Sadly, I don’t own a Chick-fil-A calendar this year (although I’ve had quite a few in the past!), but just reading your post has made me crave a chicken biscuit. :) I may need to eat breakfast there tomorrow and pick up one of their promotional calendars while I’m at it!
