Welcome to this week’s edition of “Trending Topic Tuesday,” where we share our take on what’s going on in the world and what promotional products would appropriately (or inappropriately) market the subject matter.
Atlanta Braves’ Manager Bobby Cox ended his career last night with a 3-2 loss over the San Francisco Giants in the first round of the playoffs. As the series came to a close, the Giants tipped their hats to Cox while Braves fans turned their eyes to the jumbotron to watch a video tribute to the retiring manager. Cox has spent more than half of a century in a baseball uniform- as a player, coach, manager and general manager- finishing fourth for the number of regular season wins. Cox is not alone in his decision to retire this year; he is joined by the Chicago Cubs’ Lou Piniella, the New York Yankees’ Joe Torre, and others. For all those retiring this year, whether a Major League Manager or just an average Joe, consider honoring that person’s contributions to your organization with personalized photo frames.
