Promotional Pet Products for Adopt-a-Cat Month

My cat can turn pretty much any promotional product (or even the packaging for any promotional product) into a promotional pet product. He’s like a five-year-old kid in the way he can keep himself entertained with the simplest of things: if you’re a cat, it seems, reusable grocery bags make a great playhouse, foil balls are pretty fun to chase around in circles, and there’s nothing more relaxing than scratching up a piece of corrugated cardboard.

June is Adopt-a-Cat Month, and if you’ve got an open heart, a steady cash flow, and a bunch of grocery totes and leftover foil lying around your house, you’re a perfect candidate for cat adoption. The American Humane Association reports on their website that springtime is “kitten season,” which means that thousands of kittens across the country have been placed in shelters, where they’re waiting to find a “forever home.”

When I adopted my cat, Pip, from PAWS Atlanta last summer, I loaded up on promotional pet products from the shelter. Every time I use these items I’m reminded of the life I saved by adopting a pet. In addition to custom pet items, the American Humane Association has created a checklist of things you might want to consider when you’re preparing to adopt a cat:

  1. If you’re thinking about adopting a cat, consider taking home two.
  2. Find a cat whose personality meches with yours.
  3. Pick out a veterinarian ahead of time and schedule a visit within the first few days following the adoption.
  4. Make sure everyone in the house is prepared to have a cat before it comes home.
  5. Budget for the short- and long-term costs of a cat.
  6. Stock up on supplies before the cat arrives.
  7. Cat-proof your home.
  8. Go slowly when introducing your cat to new friends and family.
  9. Be sure to include your new pet in your family’s emergency plan.
  10. If you’re considering giving a cat as a gift, make sure the recipient is an active participant in the adoption process.

As you can see, there are a few steps you’ll want to take to prepare your heart and home for a new pet, but it’s a commitment that is certainly worthwhile.

Promotional Pet Products for New Pet Owners

Last weekend, we welcomed the newest addition to Pinnacle’s marketing family: a cute little puginese named Sophie. Kim and her husband adopted the little puppy from the PAWS Atlanta shelter after seeing a picture of her in an e-blast and deciding that they just had to have her (I can’t say I blame them!) Since Kim is our Merchandising Team Lead, Sophie is sure to become the proud new owner of some great promotional pet products. From pet travel bowls and reflector IDs to keep a puppy hydrated and safe to a Paw Keep-It Clip to help food stay fresh, there are so many products to from which to choose. Organizations in the pet care industry can use these products for a variety of promotional purposes. For example, pet stores and dog walkers can use giveaways to increase brand awareness in a community while organizations such as PAWS can use these promotional pet products to thank loyal volunteers and/or to encourage adoption.

Promotional Pet Products: Introduce Your Cat to… the iPad?

Welcome to this week’s edition of  “Trending Topic Tuesday,” where we share our take on what’s going on in the world and what promotional products would appropriately (or inappropriately) market the subject matter.

Pinnacle Promotions takes pride in its extensive collection of promotional products. However, we may need to consider adding a new category in the near future: electronics for pets. We have many varieties of electronic gadgets and a wide array of promotional pet products, but a new iPad game called “Game for Cats” combines the two to entertain iPad owners’ feline friends. Why Dogs Hate Halloween (And Promotional Products for Our Four-Legged Friends)

plasticrevolverI know Halloween is officially over but I thought I would take one more opportunity to dedicate a post to one of the relatively newer aspects of a long-standing tradition – dressing up one’s pets – and dogs specifically – in costumes.

The modern tradition of humans dressing in costume for Halloween is said to have its roots in the ancient Celtic festival known as Samhain. The ancient Celts believed that the boundaries between our world, and the world of the dead, became thin on the night of Samhain, allowing spirits and ghosts to enter the earthly realm. To avoid being recognized as humans to be haunted, people would don masks whenever they left their homes after dark so the ghosts would mistake them as fellow spirits.

Now I do not think that a dressed up dog is likely to scare off wandering ghosts, but it sure is cute!

If you were one of the many pet-owners who dressed your animal(s) in Halloween attire, you may want to thank them for their compliance with your twisted
By offering them some promotional pet products or perhaps a promotional stuffed animal as they will probably be looking for friendship in another for awhile until the scars that their costumes left have healed.
