I recently came across a blog project connected with the New York Times called Things That Look Like Other Things. It’s a collection of images of items designed to look like something they’re not and ranges from the “Sticky Note Pad That Looks Like An Impaled Body” to the Pepper Grinder That Looks Like A Tiki Head, just to name a few. I noticed quite a few things that look an awful lot like promotional items, so I scoured the Internet for some of the best things that look like other things and came up with some great examples.
Pencil Sharpener that Looks Like a Robot: The Robot Pencil Sharpener from Kikkerland is one of my personal favorites and is a great gift for both kids and kids at heart. Expect to start seeing broken pencil leads all over the place, though, because recipients will be looking for excuses to sharpen their pencils with this little guy on the scene. Just turn the key or sharpen a pencil and when you’re done, he’ll start walking.
Charging Station That Looks Like a Patch of Grass: Another unique promotional product from Kikkerland is the Promotional Charging Station, which helps keep things fresh and lively by bringing a bit of the outdoors right to your desktop. The lush, sturdy grass is a great way to keep cords hidden and electronics organized and ready to go.
Hand Sanitizer that Looks Like a Doctor: The Uniform Hand Sanitizer comes in a wide variety of occupations, from doctor to soldier, businessman to chef. He’s filled with a citrusy, FDA-approved hand sanitizer that will keep your hands fresh and clean wherever you are – the 2.2 oz. bottle will fit in your purse or pocket for convenient use.
