5th Annual Atlanta Arts Festival
Piedmont Park. Saturday, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. Sunday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Free.
Art, food trucks, live music, and historic Piedmont Park contribute to this annual event’s popularity. Over 200 artists will have their work on display, and with the weather finally cooling down, you can browse the artwork without the threat of heat stroke! Register in advance for an adult painting class or bring the kids down to Lil’ Artist Alley for magic shows, face painting, balloon twisting, hands on arts and crafts, and more.

East Atlanta Strut
Glenwood and Flat Shoals road. Saturday, 10 a.m. – 11 p.m. Free entrance (prices vary by event).
From live music and artist markets to a parade and a waiter race, this event has it all! Now in its 14th year, the East Atlanta Strut is a fun way to provide support for a local community. Don’t miss the comedy stage, kids village, or car & motorcycle show!

Marietta StreetFest 2011
Historic Marietta Square. Saturday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Free.
Celebrate history at the Marietta StreetFest with antiques, autos and more. This year’s event will have a local flair, featuring cars, antiques and fresh food that are “Georgia made and grown.” Don’t forget to bring any family heirlooms and find out their worth at the Trash or Treasure Show!

Open Air Artist Market
Spruill Gallery. Saturday 10 a.m. -4 p.m. Free.
The Spruill Gallery is hosting their first Open Air Artist Market of the season. Take in the fresh fall breeze while browsing items by local artisans. Sculpture, jewelry, glass and ceramic works will be available at various prices. You are sure to find a one-of-a-kind piece to fit your budget!

Perfect Wedding Guide Bridal Show

Atlanta Horror Film Festival 2011
The Goat Farm Art Center. Thursday and Friday, 6:30 p.m. Saturday, 4 p.m. $5 per screening, $10 for day pass, $25 for all-access pass.
Warning: this event is not for the faint of heart! For the fifth year in a row, this festival showcases top independent films from across the world- horror, sci-fi, gore, mysteries, dark comedies and more are included in the line-up. If creepy, disturbing flicks aren’t your scene, mark your calendars for September 22-25 to attend screenings for Docufest Atlanta or Atlanta Underground Film Festival; all of these weekend-long festivals are part of Atlanta’s Independent Film Month activities.
