Think you have to be in New Orleans to celebrate Mardi Gras? Think again. The music and food of the Big Easy are right here in town. The Mardi Gras Music & Food Fest features six musical acts, traditional New Orleans food such as jambalaya, crawfish, muffaletta and beans and rice. There will also be plenty of Hurricanes to drink and a costume contest all under the heated tents at the Park Tavern.

This annual fundraiser benefits Safe Haven 4 Pets, which assists pet owners facing adversity in personal circumstances by providing guardianship through pet sitting, boarding, foster care and other services for their pets. To enter your dog in The Barkus King and Queen contest, “Like” Safe Haven 4 Pets’ & Mood Lounge’s Facebook pages and submit a photo of your dog in his or her best costume to info@moodatlanta.com. The opening ceremony starts at 1:00 p.m.
