Catch the Goo Goo Dolls in concert this weekend as part of the annual Star 94 StarFest extravaganza. Best known for hit songs including “Iris,” “Slide,” “Black Balloon,” and “Broadway,” the Goo Goo Dolls have played together for over 24 years. Michelle Branch and Paracute will join them in Atlanta for one night only.

Cobb County Animal Control Adopt-a-Thon
Cobb County Animal Control Shelter. Saturday, 10am – 4pm. Free.
Support the Cobb County Animal Control Shelter as it competes for grant money in the ASPCA $100K Challenge. The contest challenges shelters nationwide to save at least 300 more cats and dogs between August and October 2011 than they did during the same period last year. You can help the Cobb County Animal Control Shelter reach this goal by adopting a homeless animal yourself or spreading the word to inform other individuals and/or families interested in pet adoption. This event features food, a raffle, Police K-9 demonstrations, special adoption rates, trainer demonstrations, and more!

To conclude a week-long celebration of the life and music of Jerry Garcia, the 4th annual Jerry Day ATL features over 6 bands and special guests throughout the afternoon and evening. In addition to great tunes, enjoy “hippie vending” and giveaways galore. All ages are welcome!
